Junket Backgrounds

FORMAT.LDN has developed an ongoing body of junket background work for film and television campaigns, transforming supplied artwork into dynamic screen-based assets for interview, press and promotional use. Working closely with Special Treats, we helped pioneer some of the first digital and animated backgrounds for press junkets, developing the concept through early mockups, testing and practical on-set considerations.

What began as a new way of bringing static campaign key art to life quickly evolved into a much wider format, with studios and clients looking to add more polish, atmosphere and brand presence to their press setups. Starting from supplied artwork, each piece is animated, embellished and extended to create a more refined visual environment — adding movement, depth and detail while remaining closely aligned to the original campaign identity.

The motion is always carefully judged. Subtle animation, atmospheric shifts, light movement, particles, smoke, texture and depth are used to enhance the interview backdrop without distracting from the talent. The result is a screen-based environment that feels more cinematic and considered, while still serving the practical needs of press junkets, broadcast interviews and promotional content.

During the pandemic, this work expanded into virtual backgrounds and digital junket kits, adapting campaign artwork for remote press setups and screen-first promotional use. These assets were designed specifically for digital output, helping productions maintain a branded, cohesive visual presence even when interviews and publicity had moved into fully virtual environments.

Taken together, the work forms a growing collection of motion-led backgrounds and digital support assets, built to elevate junket content with greater clarity, consistency and screen presence.
