Isle of Dogs – HBO First Look

FORMAT.LDN was invited back by the team at Special Treats to create a complementary graphics package for HBO’s special feature on Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs.

With the film already defined by a highly distinctive visual identity, the challenge was not to reinvent its language, but to extend it with care. We developed a suite of interstitials, stings, straps, lower thirds and supporting graphic elements designed to sit naturally alongside the existing campaign assets.

Working closely with the client, we established a clean, minimal graphic approach that drew on the film’s typographic character, with a particular focus on the interplay between Japanese and English language. The result was a restrained and cohesive package that felt fully aligned with the world of the film while remaining clear, elegant and functional on screen.
