For the highly anticipated launch of the Galaxy Z Fold6, Samsung Electronics UK took to the virtual world of Fortnite Creative with a thrilling activation inside the popular game mode, Obby On A Bike. Featuring exclusive in-game rewards, a bespoke Samsung Skybox experience, custom Back Bling, and more, this campaign brought the Fold6 to life in a way that resonated with gamers around the world.
Our role in this project was to design and produce all graphic and visual elements for the live stream broadcasts, ensuring a seamless and engaging viewing experience for fans. The design work needed to align with Samsung’s premium brand identity while incorporating the energetic, playful aesthetic of Fortnite. Working closely with already established design elements, we crafted a cohesive visual language that tied together all aspects of the live stream.
We developed suite of branded on-screen identifiers, name supers, for presenters and influencers to ensure clarity and consistency. Modular overlays, transitions, and event-specific badges were created to enhance the live stream and maintain a dynamic visual experience. For integrating gameplay footage with live reactions, we designed branded frames and smooth picture-in-picture transitions that kept the visuals polished and engaging. Additionally, animated countdown timers were crafted to build anticipation for key moments, adding excitement and structure to the broadcast.
Design Process:
The design process involved close collaboration with the client and their partners to ensure that all visual elements adhered to brand guidelines while resonating with the gaming community. We began by analysing the existing assets provided by Samsung, identifying key visual motifs that could be adapted for the live stream. From there, we developed a comprehensive style guide covering typography, colour schemes, iconography, and animation styles.
Key considerations included ensuring that all visuals reinforced Samsung’s brand image, creating graphics that resonated with the gaming audience, and optimising assets for real-time streaming environments. By balancing these elements, we were able to deliver a seamless and visually cohesive broadcast experience.
The activation was further amplified by prominent gaming influencers such as Talia Mar, Koji, Jelly, and Slogo, who streamed the experience to their audiences. To support this, we provided customised overlays and branded assets for each influencer, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all streams.
