BAFTA Television Craft Awards 2013

We were very excited when BAFTA approached us to re-develop the ceremony and broadcast graphics for the 2013 BAFTA Television Craft Awards.

Working closely with the client we established early on that it was important for us to introduce a series of elements representative of the television/broadcast industry and the concept of a BAFTA mask created out of these elements was our foundation. We began by going back to our digital 3D scan data from an earlier project. Then created a whole host of 3D models of objects, including DVD’s, paint cans, lipstick, clothes, props, lights, cameras – elements which were symbolic. We then set about creating a series of animations and scenes of the mask breaking apart in slow-motion. Over 1 million elements makeup the BAFTA mask in it’s “whole” form. When this breaks apart it’s a truly spectacular landscape of moving elements. Accompanied by beautiful sound design to compliment the elements colliding with one another.
